MEMORIAL WEEKEND !

Freedom Four Miller 

This time last year Tropical storm Beryl came to visit !! & put a halt to the Green Cove Springs Freedom 8K race in 2012, a group of us stayed at the Sleep Inn at green cove & got up & ran the race! We mapped out our course had a water stop; we called it the sleep in 8K! We had a fantastic time so much so we decided to come back this year to run the race,
but this year I was running as a Fit2Run-Orlando Ambassador below is a picture of Brandi April & I all ambassador's this was taken before the race started.

 

We Found the table of awards, so we had to have our picture taken with them looks like we are envying them !! Probably, one of my favorite pictures !! We are all so happy.

Before the race got started we  took a  group picture of  some of our running friends  & Bling Ho's

Then we were off .... Running our 4 miles on Memorial Day! Through this pretty town, so many lovely homes & gardens, I kept commenting on people's gardens & made a point to shout out Hey! I love your garden. We were keeping a nice pace just around 11mm. My husband who took all these photographs was also running the race while taking pictures I am so very proud of him, he reached his goal under an hour, in fact, under 57 minutes our group all finished around 45 minutes,

I then went back out  to find   Paul   he was just before the   finish  he took this picture of  me  

I then ran back to the finish line where I asked if I could give Paul his medal! The volunteers & race director was awesome & said yes! I waited for Paul as he was running in taking pictures, he took these as I was getting ready to present him with his medal !!

Had to share this picture  this  is Carter  Rafael & April's son he is  an amazing young man 

Now    Rafael was still out on the course in pain   I love  our running friends  Brandi  April  & Jeff   went back out for him below is  a picture of  Jeff  & Rafael  just before the finish line 

Mel came in next with Marisa way to go guys ! We are all finished headed back to the tent where Carol our speedy runner was standing, guess what with! Remember those medals, we were envying yep Speedy Carol awesome runner won 1st place Masters in her age group !! Here she is showing off her smile let me tell you that trophy never left her side :)   

   Now it was time to discover this  Lovely town  we headed over to where  they were honoring  the  armed  forces  our other running buddy Mel  is pictured  below in  Yellow     the below pictures  are   a reminder  of  what a  special day it is to honor    people  who serve  in the  forces   Thank You. 

I think I can say for many that were there yesterday we will be back Green Cove you put on an awesome race !! & your town did proud by our service men & women.
